Roland Shim Obituary

ROLAND KIM YIM SHIM, SR. Our dear father, Roland Kim Yim Shim, Sr., joined our mother, Yvonne Mapuana Shim, on October 12, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on December 8, 1939, in Makapala, North Kohala to Edward and Florence Shim. He graduated from Iolani Class of 1957 and retired from United States Airforce a er 30+ years of service. He was General Manager at Daiei/ Holiday Mart, Pepsi-Cola /Seven Up Bottling Co. of Honolulu. Survived by his children: Roland K.Y. Shim Jr. (Lokelani), Ronald Shim (Yolanda), Rochelle Fairbairn (Chris), and Reynelle Shim. Surviving sibling: Florence (Ezra) Heu. Roland had 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A service will be held at Nu'uanu Mortuary on Sunday, March 9. Visitation begins at 3:30 pm, with the service at 5:00 pm. Food and refreshments will follow, and we encourage you to share your memories and stories of Roland Shim, just as he would have loved.
