Aloha mai e Jennie, Kalani and ´ohana,
Your dad and I (Ed) grew up for part of our childhood at the Airport Village camp in Pu`unene, and, therefore, shared some of the same memories, pidgin expressions and outlook.
Then, we became Haleakala Crater Road neighbors, and we recall those large, handsome family portraits on Ron´s living-room wall of you all.
We were the recipients of Ron´s seed lei and earrings, farm-fresh eggs and a feral kitten we named Kele`anuinohoanaapiapi "Hina." Ron served as support crew for us jogging the Maui Marathon, and hosted us at his delectable Super Bowl parties. We were in papa `olelo Hawai`i (Hawaiian language class) altogether, and we remember him as a Royal Order of Kamehameha devotee.
We will miss Ron´s 1/12/24 burial service due to a prior commitment to steer the Sovereign Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations leadership conference on Maui. But we honor his memory and think of him with fond aloha,
