ROSITA HERNANDEZ Obituary

ROSITA TIDA (MERCADO) HERNANDEZ 92 of Kapolei, and formerly of Ewa Beach, went to be with the Lord on the most holiest of days, Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 72 years, Paul Hernandez, Sr., and her infant daughter, Lynette Marie Hernandez. Her greatest loves were the Lord Jesus, her husband, and family. She was very proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and spoke Spanish as her first language. Ever since her teenage years, she played baseball, and later softball well into her sixties. She will affectionately be remembered as a great cook, with her specialty being Puerto Rican dishes. She would never have guests leave her home without first feeding them a meal prepared by her loving hands. Rosita's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Ka Punawai Ola skilled nursing facility. During her ten years there, they treated her with love, kindness, and dignity, and truly made her a part of their ohana. Rosita is survived by her daughter, Paulette (Pedro) Reyes; sons, Paul Jr. (Josephine "Joey"), Dean Sr. (Tiare), Darren (Brenda), 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grand- children; brothers, Joey Alices of Florida, and Wayne Alices of Hawaii Island. Visitation: 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13th at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Funeral service: 6:00 p.m. Private burial.
