ROY KIMURA Obituary

ROY KAZUICHI KIMURA 85, of Pearl City, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born in Kahuku, he was a proud graduate of Kahuku High School, where he played baseball and football. After university, he began his career in education as a teacher and retired as an administrator with the Dept. of Education. Roy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family, traveling across the US, Canada, Japan, and Europe, and going golfing with friends. Roy was preceded in death by daughter Alison Ota (Ryan), father Thomas Kimura, mother Leatrice Takamura, stepfather Shigemi Takamura, and brother Arthur Kimura. He is survived by wife Amy, daughters Melanie Shishido (Todd) and Heidi Kimura (Blayne Nagata), seven grandchildren; sisters Trudy Hirohata (Vince) and Gail Danuser (Dan), brother Eric Takamura; aunt and uncle Elaine and Richard Yamasaki, and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Mililani Memorial Park Mauka Chapel in Waipio; visitation at 9:30am and service at 10:30am. Family kindly requests no flowers. Roy will always be remembered for his zest for life, warm laughter, and his love of family and friends.
