RUTH SOUTH Obituary

RUTH BOOTSIE RHODA SOUTH Ruth "Bootsie" Rhoda South, 90 years old, was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Ruth, a Palolo Valley native of La'i Road and the youngest of nine children went home on February 21, 2023, in Kailua, Hawai'i. She will be greatly missed by all. She was a strong, confident woman well before her time, truly one of a kind. For 25 years, Ruth managed six music stores and was the largest buyer on the island. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Augustine and Rita Montiho, her eight siblings, and the love of her life, her husband of 32 years Harold Clyde South. She is survived by her three children: Robert (Freda) Kaneko III, Clyde Kaneko, Charla Logsdon, granddaughter Ruth Kaneko, six grandchildren, 10 great-grand- children, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Diamond Head Cemetery on April 22, 2023, at 10:30 am with a reception to follow. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
