Sally Matsumoto Obituary

SALLY AKIE YAGI MATSUMOTO Sally Akie Matsumoto, 92, passed away on July 9, 2023. Born in Kona, Hawai'i, she retired as an Administrative Officer at UH Manoa's Hamilton Library. An active member of the Hawai'i United Okinawa Association, Sally was awarded "Uchinanchu of the Year' twice by the Okinawa City Goeku Son, and once by the Okinawa Genealogical Society of Hawai'i. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Hatsuo Oshiro and son, Aaron Oshiro. She is survived by her husband, Hisashi Matsumoto, daughters Lorene Higa and Liane (Kenneth) Tanigawa, daughter-in-law Pamela Oshiro and step children Bryan (Vera) Matsumoto, Joy (Lester) Tanji, Gwen (Wayne) Kojima, Roy (Millynette Remmers) Matsumoto, Guy (Nadine) Matsumoto. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. She was inurned at the National Cemetery of the Pacific on Sept. 6, 2023. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
