Shad Kane Obituary

SHAD S. KANE Shad Kane, 80, beloved husband, father, papa, cultural historian passed away in the 'Ewa moku on January 30, 2026. Survived by wife Valerie, daughters Michelle, Jamie (Rodney), grandson Brennan (Sienna), three great-grandchildren, sister Ehulani, extended family. A proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools Class of 1964. While in the Navy he served in Vietnam. Shad loved his career as an HPD officer and retired as a lieutenant in 2000. In the community, he served as a source of cultural information and was a strong advocate for sharing Hawaiian culture and history. Visitation: 5:30 pm, Services: 6:30 pm on Wednesday, March 18 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Burial: 11:00 am on Thursday, March 19 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
