Shanti Mizuno Obituary

SHANTI CHERIE KAZUKO MIZUNO Shanti Cheri Kazuko Mizuno was born in Honolulu to Amy Hiratzka and Henry Mizuno on Jan. 23, 1963. She grew up with her mom in Kapahulu and graduated from McKinley High in 1981. She attended Willamette and completed her BA in Communications from UH Manoa. Shanti also ran track, competed in the Honolulu Marathon, had her own video production company, and was a strong community advocate for numerous causes. She loved her family, friends, and animals of all kinds. On May 22, 2025, Shanti died unexpectedly, 15 months after her mother's passing. Both were longtime congregants of Church of the Crossroads, where Shanti's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Visitation at 10 am with service at 10:30 am. Shanti is survived by a half-brother, cousins, and extended family and friends who will miss her (and her quirky texts) deeply. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church, the Humane Society or NAMI Hawaii.
