Sheryl Okamura Obituary

SHERYL KEIKO HOKULANI OKAMURA 39, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2023 in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu and raised on Kauai. She graduated from Kauai High School and Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, NY) with degrees in Anthropology Computer Science and University of Hawaii - School of Public Health Policy & Management. Sheryl moved to Boston after college and lived and worked there for nearly 5 years, returning to Honolulu to pursue her Master's degree. She worked for HMSA from 2011- 2023. Sheryl is survived by her parents; Kyle and Tracy Okamura; sister, Robyn Okamura; grandmother, Chiyoko Okamura; an Aunt & Uncle and numerous cousins. Sheryl will be known for her smile, generosity and devotion to family, friends and work. Services will be Tuesday, May 16, at Nuuanu Mortuary at 5:00 PM. Family request No koden, casual attire. Donations can be made in Memory of Sheryl to: Hawaii Public Radio, Friends of the Library of Hawaii, Straub Medical Center Foundation's Building Expansion Fund.
