Shinichi Nakamura Obituary

SHINICHI NAKAMURA "Shin", as everyone called him, was 99 years old when he passed away peacefully at the Kaiser Hospital at Moanalua, Oahu on April 3, 2023. Shin was born in Hilo, Hawaii on September 18, 1923 to Shunichi and Shizue Nakamura. Shin graduated from Hilo High School, served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a construction inspector for the City & County of Honolulu. He is survived by sisters, Harumi Nakagawa of Hilo, Hawaii and Tsugiko Miyake of Kapaa, Kauai and nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by wife Dorothy; brothers, Junichi and Iwao of Hilo, Hawaii, Roy of Oahu and sister, Violet Masuoka of Oahu. Shin was very skillful in making or repairing anything. He enjoyed fishing, photography and fine cars. He was always cheerful and friendly to everyone. We will miss him but remember him forever. Private services were held.
