SIU HOI Obituary

SIU TSIN CHANG HOI After celebrating her 98th birthday, Siu Tsin Chang Hoi, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, in Honolulu, HI. Born in Ningbo, China, she moved to Shanghai after marrying the late Yu Lei Hoi, with whom she shared the same hometown and a seven-decade plus union until his death in 2010. She followed him to Hong Kong, where he built a successful Chinese furniture, arts and crafts business. In addition to raising their family, she played a vital role as strategic partner in major business decisions and spearheaded their philanthropic efforts. Through their acumen and enterprise, their highly successful business endured over five decades and represented Hong Kong on the world stage. They also gave back by supporting higher education and charity in Hong Kong, recognizing universities and philanthropies as community cornerstones. After they relocated to Honolulu in 1975, she assumed bookkeeping duties at their local business branch, China Treasures, until retirement. Always a people person, she was beloved by all, including the staff at The Plaza at Mililani, where she spent her last 18 months. She is survived by daughters - Nancy (David) and Liane; sons - Sidney (Julia), Thomas (Katherine), and Samuel; grandchildren - Helene (Grant), Charlene (Mathew), Elaine (Lars), Elise (Johnny), and Michael; and great grandchildren - Tyler and Emi. Private service will be held on January 9 at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe. Her final resting place will be in the Garden of Paradise.
