Stanley Shimizu Obituary

STANLEY SHIMIZU Born May 27, 1929 in Camp 10, Pu'unene Maui. Left this physical world on September 18, 2022 at the age of 93. He lived a full life, most of which was on the island of Oahu. He married his love Elsie in 1954, was drafted and served in the Army for two years and moved to Oahu in 1961. He worked at Nissan auto parts, and in his later years worked part time at the Airport. After fully retiring, travelling to Las Vegas to press those slot machine buttons and pull those levers was his pure enjoyment! He treasured time spent with family on Oahu and Maui along with celebrating special family events. He always looked forward to these events where everyone would say he was the life of the party. He (along with his love Elsie) also enjoyed spending time in the garden, keeping the yard orderly, lush, and filled with flowers, fruits, and vegetables. He kept up with politics, current events, and global issues. He will always have a special place in our hearts, never forgotten, and is truly missed. He is survived by his wife Elsie, sister Shirley Takitani, sons Stanford (Cheryl), Dwight (Carrie); daughter Iris Kimura (Eric); Grandchildren Shana, Sherry, Shaun (Jaycia), Ashley, Brad, Chelsea, Kayla, Natalie; Great-grandchildren Marie, Lucas, Goku, Leilani, and one more on the way. Predeceased by parents Kiyosuke and Itoyo, Brothers Isamu, Kenneth, Harold; sisters Dorothy Shimada, Stella Munekata, and Jenny Kato. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
