Stanley Smith Obituary

STANLEY SMITH, DANA Stanley passed away on 25 January 2023 at Queens Medical Center after a short illness. Stanley was born on 30 Aug 1952 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and traveled widely, living for substantial periods of time in Yugoslavia, Croatia, Greece and Italy. He earned a BS degree in Psychology at Michigan State University, and a PhD in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. He was a well-published researcher in psycho-linguistics and other areas of psychology, and was a popular psychology instructor at multiple universities in Oregon and Hawaii. He spent the last 22 years of his life in Honolulu, where he taught at UH and HPU. He was an accomplished guitarist and blues harpist, talented linguist, enthusiastic basketball player, and loved all things Croatian and Serbian.
