Stella Wakamatsu Obituary

STELLA YACHIYO WAKAMATSU 103, of Kailua, passed peacefully at home on December 15, 2024. Born in Haiku, Maui on September 16, 1921, she was the eldest of 9 children of Kazuo & Sueme Hirata. Wed to Tadashi "Aku" Wakamatsu, they moved from Wailuku to Hilo and finally settled in Kailua. After retirement from Kailua Elementary School Cafeteria, she eagerly took-up golf and scored 2 hole-in-ones. She enjoyed traveling the world, socializing in club activities, and gambling in Las Vegas. Her favorite was family dinner on Sundays. Survived by children: Glen (Janice), Gwen Michi (Jerry) Lee, and Alan. Grandchildren: Shelly, Brandi (Shannon) Oshiro, Lindsey (Jeff Gilbert), and Cody. 8 great-grandchildren. Siblings: Mino (Norma), Edward, Harry (Jane), and Margaret Namiki. Celebration of Life will be held on February 16, 2025, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation from 3pm. Service at 4pm.
