STEVE HAROLD GOOD Steve Harold Good was the youngest of four children born to Harold Carlos and Beatrice Lorene (Sims) Good, on December 16, 1940 in Paragould, AR. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle & friend. At 84 years old, Steve died peacefully at home with family on October 3, 2025, in Chesterfield, VA. Steve grew up in rural Arkansas and was a country boy at heart. The value of hard work and family values were deeply ingrained during his formative years. He played baseball and football along with delivering newspapers and working at the local service station. Following Steve's high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served for 30 years, including two tours in Vietnam. The majority of his Navy time was in the Submarine Force. While stationed at Pearl Harbor, he met & married his wife in 1962. In 1972, his family of six, made Ewa Beach, HI home. Steve retired from the Navy at Pearl Harbor in February 1989. Steve joined the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) in December 1989 and served in patrol for ten years. After leaving HPD in 2000, Steve's final job was security at Doris Duke estates. At the end of 2005, Steve fully retired to spend time and devote his attention to his ailing wife who died too soon in 2008. As a widower in retirement, Steve became active in the USS Bowfin Pearl Harbor Base and enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow Sub Vets. The remainder of his time was fully devoted to his family, specifically the grandkids and great-grandkids. During the 2020 pandemic, Steve left the family home in Ewa Beach to move in with his daughter's family on the East Coast. As per Steve's wishes, he will return to Oahu and be inurned at Punch Bowl. Steve is survived by his sister, Myrna Joyce Stacy; children Alissa (Dana) Simon, Stanley Good, David (Kuulei) Good, multiple nieces and nephews, along with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Mieko (Sakai) Good; his daughter, Stephanie Ann Good; his parents, Harold Carlos and Beatrice Lorene Good; his brother, Hoyt Royce Good; and his sister, Marlene Gail Walker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Steve's memory, to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11 AM, followed by a service at 12 noon in the Oahu Cemetery Chapel. Aloha attire.
