I woke up this morning and my thoughts drifted to Steve and Walter at Kona Abrasives.
I was one of his customers in the beginning back in the 80´s.
I was the paint forman for Wong´s Auto Body in Kakaako Honolulu.
Steve served me well when I worked at Windward VW´s body shop and when I moved to Wong´s, it was a no-brainer to continue on with his great prices and STELLAR service.
Such a fine man, and I shall miss him dearly.
I was going thru a rough patch at one point and Steve showed me a kindness that I will NEVER FORGET!
My heartfelt condolences to his family and to Walter at Kona Abrasives.

I had been friends with Steve for many years, we hung out growing up and went to school with each other, Kailua High School......go Surf Riders. I have many fond memories of Steve, he was a good husband to Julie and a great father and grand father and also a good friend. My brother Kimo and I got some quality time with Steve and Julie over breakfast on my last visit to the islands last year and so glad I got the chance. He will be sorely missed.
