Susie Cheng Obituary

SUSIE CHENG Susie Cheng, 75, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2024. She was born to W.S. Cheng and H.F. Chan in Shanghai, the youngest of the 5 children. Susie spent her early years living in many Asian countries and in California before moving to Honolulu in 1987 where she settled and called this home. She studied in San Francisco and Oregon and began her career in secretarial roles, with her mid-career revolved around helping and supporting people. Worked at Kapiolani Medical Center, CareResource Hawaii and KGMB before she retired. A beloved daughter, proud and loving mother, sister, auntie, grandmother and a special friend to those she met at the Moiliili Community Center and AmeriCorps Senior Companion Program where she volunteered for over 10 years. A cruise lover, known for her love to travel and deep seated compassion to helping vulnerable seniors in the local communities. Private service to be held at Diamond Head Memorial Park. Selfless lady with beautiful spirit, her heart was filled with love. Never seeking credit or worried about receiving recognition, Susie was happy to do her part, making others' lives a little easier and happier. Her children and grandchildren are her most prized possession and meant more to her than anything else in this world. Susie will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and generosity and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
