Takako Kokame Obituary

TAKAKO OKINO KOKAME Was born on September 6, 1932, in Sublet, Wyoming, and was the daughter of Kanekichi & Masano Okino. She spent most of her adult life in Honolulu, but also earlier years in New Orleans, Louisiana, where her husband, Dr. Glenn Kokame was training at Tulane to be a surgeon. She was happily married to Dr. Glenn Kokame for 47 years. Tak, as she was known, is survived by her daughter, Karen Kokame (Dr Michael Kimura); her son, Dr Gregg Kokame (Carol Kokame) and 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Kolton & Ryan Kimura and Kristina Kokame & Dr Kelli Kokame. Tak was dedicated to her children & grandchildren, providing guidance and support to her family. She worked as the office manager at Dr Glenn Kokame's office at Kuakini Hospital and was cheerful and supportive to the patients. She loved to travel, exercise, do crafts & go to plays or musical performances. She passed away on December 11, 2025. She is cherished by her family and friends, and remembered for her kind ways, inner strength, beautiful soul and everlasting love. Tak was a devout Christian going to church every week. Private services were held and the family requests no koden or flowers. Donations can be made to Honolulu Symphony or Diamond Head Theater, two of her favorite things.
