THOMAS LISHMAN Obituary

In Loving Memory of THOMAS MEYER LISHMAN Thomas Meyer Lishman, 93, of Kailua, HI, a cherished Husband, Dad, Papa, Great Grampa and Uncle, peacefully passed away at home on November 24, 2024. Born on February 9, 1931 and raised in Ho'olehua, Molokai, he later made Olomana subdivision in Kailua his home. After graduating from The Kamehameha Schools Kapalama, Class of 1949, Thomas studied at the School of Aviation Mechanics at Cal-Aero Technical Institute in Glendale, Los Angeles County, CA. and received his Diploma as Master Aviation Mechanic in August of 1950. He joined the United States Air Force in October of 1950 interested in making a career in Flight Aviation, served through October 1954 and concluded his years of service as a Staff Sargent with Honorable Discharge. He then joined Pan American Airways at the age of 25 and retired after 30 years of service as an Aircraft Mechanic. At 55 years young, he started his 12 years of service at United Airlines as a System Line Mechanic, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of his 42 working years. Thomas took great satisfaction in many forms of physical fitness when he could. His favorite activities included jogging the neighborhood, lifting weights and talking story with friends at 24 Hour Fitness Kaneohe, swimming and bodysurfing along the Windward coastline and clearing the fields of the family's Molokai Homestead. Being outdoors was where he preferred to be. Thomas will be incredibly missed by his wife of 64 years, Rochelle; sons, Tracy (Laura) and Kyle (Wendi); daughter, Gayle (William); grandson, Cheynne (Karina), granddaughters, Alyssa U'ilani (Lucas) and Dallas Hana (Peter); and great grandson, Kylen Ki'aipono. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and is predeceased by his son, Leland; his sisters, Nelene Barclay and Elizabeth Cockett of Kalae, Molokai; and his Mom and Dad, Annie Meyer and Thomas Kenui Lishman of Ho'olehua, Molokai. The Lishman family would like to thank the Navian Hospice Hawaii Team for their compassionate care that allowed Thomas to live peacefully in the comfort of his home. A private committal service was held.
