Thomas Nestor Obituary

Tom and I were classmates at St. Vincent Prep. We both started there our junior year. Since we both came from homes some distance away, we were often left at the school on weekends and became good friends. We went our own ways after graduation in 1960, but I´m left with a memory of an affable fellow with a funny accent who was determined to do good with his life. He clearly achieved his goal. R.I.P. Tom.

He was my mother physician since the days Kaiser had a clinic in Waipahu. I would check on his name from time to time. Though his demeanor changed when his wife left him which kinda shocked me. I still remember him from his Waipahu days.

I worked with Tom at Kaiser Medical Center in Honolulu for 18 years. He was always concerned about his patients, sometimes to a fault. I enjoyed his sense of humor and learned from his clinical acumen. We both later worked at Tripler Army Medical Center after retirement from Kaiser. He always had a smile to share. I will miss him.
