Victoriano Espero Obituary

VICTORIANO DUNGCA ESPERO Victor Espero was born on July 13, 1933 to Venancio and Pacita Espero in Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines. He was one of eight siblings. Victor and Paulina Espero were wed on April 8, 1957 in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Victor joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 at the U.S. Naval Station, Sangley Point, Philippines. He initially trained in San Diego, CA and had multiple deployments - First Fleet San Diego, CA; USS St. Paul; USS Henry B. Wilson; MINSY, Vallejo, CA; US NAS Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; USS Fort Mandan; FAU COMFAIRWHIDBEY (Oak Harbor, WA); Navy Supply Corps School (Athens, GA); COMSUBFLOT EIGHT (Naples, Italy); Attack Squadron Fifty-two (WA). Victor retired from the Navy in 1977 and eventually moved to California where he owned a restaurant and three care homes. In 2005, Victor and Paulina moved to Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Victor is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Paulina Calip Espero, and their two sons, Edgar and William. He is survived by grandchildren - Sean, Jason, Jasmine, Noelle, Nicholas, Kraig, and Kurtis - and grandchildren spouses Biyana and Renee. Victor is also blessed with two great children, Xavier and Iliyana. Victor's services will be held on Monday, April 29, with public viewing at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ewa Beach beginning at 9:30am. A Celebration of Life will commence at 10am, and a church mass will be held at 11am. Victor will be buried at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe at 1pm.
