Violet Kobayashi Obituary
VIOLET YASUKO KOBAYASHI Violet Yasuko (Nakamura) Kobayashi left to be with the Lord on August 16, 2025. She was born March 2,1936 in Kealekekua, Hawaii and while growing up she discovered her talents in traditional Japanese dance, which she continued into adulthood. She graduated from Konawaena High School Class 1954 and moved to Oahu to attend Honolulu Business College. After college, she moved back to Kona where she worked at the Kona Inn for several years before moving back to Oahu where she met her husband, Stanley Kobayashi. They were married Aug. 4, 1962 and lived briefly in Oklahoma City, OK and then Agana, Guam where her only son Kevin was born. When the family moved back to Oahu, she worked at Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) as a medical claims examiner while actively attending Hawaii Kai Baptist Church where her faith in God continued to grow. Her husband's job took them to Sacramento, CA where she worked at Radiology Associates of Sacramento while attending Capitol City Baptist Church, formally known as First Southern Baptist Church of Sacramento. In retirement, Violet and her family moved back to Oahu and was actively involved with Waialae Baptist Church. Regardless of her residence, she was able to pursue her biggest passion of traveling the world. Over the course of her life, she was able to visit multiple states across the US and countries like Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Russia. Her and Stanley's favorite place to visit was Japan where they visited multiple times over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Masano Nakamura. She is survived by her husband Stanley, son Kevin, daughter in law Sasisopin, brother Conklin Nakamura (Fumiko), sisters Jasmine Nishibun (Fusao), Eunice Nishibun (Donald), and Adeline Porter (David). Many nieces and nephews. Celebration of life to be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary 30 N. Kukui Street on Friday September 5, 2025. Visitation starts at 5:00 pm, service to begin at 6:00 pm.
