November 8, 2025
So sorry to hear my good friend wayne passed away. i used to work for amfac electric supply and delivered material to the Grand Hyatt where he worked back in 1985. We became good friends and shared scriptures together. then in 1991 he got me a job as an expeditor for Hygrade Electric and we worked together. i supported wayne when i had my electrical supply company and stocked some of his product lines. i keeped in contact with wayne and sent smoke meat on occasions when he wanted. my most memories of wayne will be him saying (kavin silva) when i called him. my name is kevin kahakua and because my moms maiden name was (silva) wayne got a kick from dat and and always said kavin silva when he answered my call. been trying to get ahold of wayne for the last couple weeks and was afraid for the worst. wayne was Good to me and my Ohana. wayne will be missed by me. i will say a prayer for my good friend wayne kanai this morning in front of the Sheriton Kona Resort this morning on my way out on my OC1 Va'a.
