Wayne Nasser Obituary

WAYNE PHILLIP NASSER Wayne Phillip Nasser passed away surrounded by his family on April 21, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Suzette, daughters, Nicole Fesharaki and Brooke Nasser, and grandchildren, Jade and Kohl Fesharaki. He is also survived by his brother Ken Nasser of Gilroy, CA. Born in San Francisco, CA to Mitchell and Victoria, Wayne moved with his family to Honolulu, HI in 1954. He attended Punahou School, where he picked up the nickname of Wayniepooh. He played on the basketball, football and swim teams, and graduated Class of 1964. He could often be found bodysurfing with friends at Makapu'u. In 1968, Wayne received his B.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara, and in 1971, he received his J.D. from the University of California, Boalt Hall School of Law. Wayne returned home to begin his law career at Ashford & Wriston in 1971. He focused his law practice on litigation, including land titles, escrow contracts, title insurance, insurance defense, beach accretion, landlord-tenant disputes, regulatory takings, antitrust matters, eminent domain and environmental law. Wayne was a member of the American Bar Association (TIPS section and Title Insurance Committee) and served on the attorney-client relations committee of the Hawaii State Bar Association. He thoroughly enjoyed practicing law and was recognized by Best Lawyers? as Hawaii's 2014 "Lawyer of the Year" in the field of Real Estate Litigation and the 2016 Lawyer of the Year in Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law. Wayne was a nationally certified Track & Field official and volunteered his time, heart, and knowledge to youth track and field for 27 years. He also volunteered at the Salvation Army and for the Hawaii Office of Elections. Despite his many professional accomplishments, Wayne was most proud of his family, "dropping everything" to support his wife and two daughters. He will always be remembered as an infinitely patient, kind, and supportive husband, father and grandfather. A Celebration of Wayne's life will be held at the Thurston Memorial Chapel at Punahou on May 13 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory could be made to a charity of your choice or: The American Liver Foundation, P.O. Box 299, West Orange, NJ 07052. Arrangements Provided By: Oahu Mortuary
