Wilhelmina Yoshimura Obituary

WILHELMINA KAM LEE YOSHIMURA "Aunty Willie", or "Aunty Ali" (as known by her nieces and nephews), was called to the Lord on January 11, 2026. As Matriarch of the Yosh Ohana and last living sibling of the original Chung Ohana, she was born on February 21, 1922 to parents Sing Yuen and Amoy Lee in the Territory of Hawaii. She was the 5th oldest of 8 children, and was raised on her mother's family property in Mo'ili'ili on Kapa'akea Lane. She discontinued her education after the 7th grade because of the family workload at home, but was fluent in Chinese and partially fluent in Hawaiian. Mom was a selfless and serving wahine, always helping family members and others in the time of need. She was well respected and loved by everyone. As a babysitter early in her career, the children loved her and visited her later when they were grown. Later, she became a bartendress at Charley's Tavern and then at the Continental Restaurant in the Ala Moana Shopping Center. In her retirement, Mom rejuvenated her love for the Hawaiian culture by teaching Hawaiian quilt as well as making feather leis. She was a perfectionist and a strong wahine. We will forever love her. Mom is predeceased by her husband Samuel; son, Newton; and daughters, May and Ku'ulei. She is survived by sons, Keith and Lance (Mary), and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services begin at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
