William Kauahikaua Obituary

WILLIAM GEORGE MEHEWAOLE KAUAHIKAUA Age 84, of Hawai'i Kai, passed away on February 24, 2023. He was born on January 17, 1939 in Waialua, O'ahu to William Kauahikaua Jr. and Lydia Kaleionalani Cox. He is a graduate of Kamehameha School for Boys, Class of 1957. William is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kaleo Kauahikaua; children: Layton, Stephen, Russ (Audra), Chendra, Carley; 6 grandchildren: Ikaika, Ihilani (Ikaika) Cagampang, Raecha, Rusty, Rylee, and Raven; 11 great-grand- children: Ilihia, Nanea, Maliana, Lahela, 'Olena (predeceased), Kross, Deuce, Rayder, River, Damian and Dominic. Sister, Caroline Ponce (predeceased), and beloved niece Ernette Kos and nephew Sonny Ponce of Clovis, New Mexico. William was a retired State of Hawaii Airport Crash & Rescue Firefighter of 32 years. Over the course of his lifetime, William served on many community and sports organizations and boards to include Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Kamehameha Schools Class Rep, Hawaii Jaycees, O'ahu Pop Warner Junior League, and served many years as coach for Hawaii Kai Bobby Sox and Kamehameha Schools Intermediate Softball. He was a man who served his community and loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
