WILLIAM LARONAL Obituary

WILLIAM BILLY LARONAL, JR. With deep aloha, we share the passing of William "Billy" Laronal, Jr., on November 29, 2024 in Long Beach, California. Born in Honolulu on February 1, 1949, Billy was raised in 'Aiea and Nanakuli, and was a proud Lahainaluna graduate who loved surfing, football, and javelin. At 18, he left Hawai'i for the westcoast. In Washington, he hosted KLAY Seattle's first Hawaiian radio show, published Hale Pai newspaper, and organized the first arrival of the Hokule'a and Hawai'iloa in 1995 at Shilshole Bay, Golden Gardens. He is survived by his children Shawneen, Kahea William III, Rosita Leilani, and Kapi'olani; siblings Brenda, Mike, and Janet. He is reunited with his parents, William Sr. and Betty Ann Leilani, and brothers Wesley and Clifford. A ceremony was held in Nanakuli on July 16, 2025.
