William Nolan Obituary

Brother Nolan "Liam", 84 years of age and a member of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, passed away on January 15, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born in England but his family eventually settled in Kilcullen, Ireland. He attended schools taught by the Christian Brothers and eventually entered their Congregation in 1954. After teaching and administrating in numerous schools for 45 years, he took an early retirement from the Irish school system and moved to Damien Memorial School in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1998 where he taught chemistry and biology before moving into the Counseling Department. He retired from Damien in 2020 at the age of 81.

He is survived by his sister Margaret, brother Fred, and his niece Jennifer all in Ireland. He was the brother of the late Kate MacKay (Pat Nolan), who died in Seattle, USA, last September. He was also predeceased by his mother Kathleen, his father Bill, and his brother Michael.

Services will be held on Wednesday February 21 in the chapel on the grounds of Damien Memorial School. Viewing at 10:00 am; Mass at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
