William Rosehill Obituary

WILLIAM KU'UALOHA ROSEHILL, BILL William (Bill) Ku'ualoha Rosehill, 73, of Kailua Kona, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on October 26, 1950, in Honolulu, to the late Walter and Catherine Rosehill and was raised in Kailua. He graduated from the Kamehameha Schools in 1968 and went on to earn a degree in General Tropical Agriculture from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He worked as a Forestry & Natural Resources Manager for Bishop Estate for 19 years. Bill was a Kahuna Kukulu Wa'a (Master of Ancient Canoe Building), who designed, built, and restored koa and fiberglass outrigger racing canoes for 49 years, beginning in 1975. Bill is survived by his loving companion Margo Makanani of Kailua Kona, HI; his four children, Deanna Frazier (Vince Frazier) of Lake Wales, FL, Anuhea Sonognini (James Sonognini) of Frostproof, FL, Lindsay Laua'e Rosehill (Bryan Hong) of Concord, CA, and Reid Rosehill (Christabelle Trinh) of Walnut Creek, CA; his sisters Lokelani Rosehill (Penfold Helepololei) of Moorpark, CA, and Keahonui Rosehill (Steve Maresca) of Kailua, HI, and his brother Walter Rosehill (Donna Rosehill) of Kailua, HI. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren. A private celebration of life was held by his family. Bill will be remembered for his commitment to helping others, his passion for perpetuating the Hawaiian culture and for his unyielding dedication to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
