Xianxin Chen passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in Honolulu at the age of 59. Mr. Chen will be dearly missed by his wife Xiang Min, son William (Michelle), son Tony, and mother Cai Hua. He will be further remembered by his many friends and associates around the world, who he considered as his extended family.
Mr. Chen married the love of his life, Xiang Min Chen, in 1990, grew their family with sons William and Tony, and moved to Vancouver, Canada, in 2003. From humble beginnings, Mr. Chen established successful ventures in finance, manufacturing, and construction. In 2016, he founded ProsPac, one of Honolulu's most promising real estate development firms. Under Mr. Chen and his son William's leadership, ProsPac's Azure Ala Moana project added to the city's beautiful skyline and became home to local businesses and hundreds of families. In his reflections, Mr. Chen long considered Hawai'i his true home and strived to live up to its ideals of Aloha.
Mr. Chen's passion equally extended to his philanthropy. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Mr. Chen provided financial support to the Queen's Medical Center and coordinated the delivery of essentials to households in China. After fires devastated Lahaina in 2023, Mr. Chen directed substantial donations to the Maui Food Bank without hesitation.
Mr. Chen also strongly believed in the value of higher education, despite his own limited access in his youth. In 2013, he received his executive MBA from HEC Paris and went on to attain an Executive PhD from the University of Geneva in 2023.
Mr. Chen was known for his love of golf, appreciation for fine wines and cigars, and his graciousness as a host. More importantly, he will be remembered for his warm generosity, keen eye for design, sharp mind in business, and devotion to his
ends, employees, partners."
