Donald Meyer Sr., born on July 14, 1936, passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 89. He was a long time former resident of Marengo and currently resided in Wheeling.
Donald was raised on a farm, which instilled in him a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors. He pursued a career as a truck driver, dedicating many years to his profession.
In his personal life, Donald enjoyed hunting, a pastime that brought him great joy and relaxation.
Donald will be missed by his daughter Laurie Schadt and son Donald Meyer Jr.; his granddaughters Ashley (David) Draun and Megan Meyer; and his great-grandson, Samuel Draun. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lila Meyer; his daughter, Michelle Meyer; and his brother Dale Meyer.
A visitation will be held on February 17, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, located at 505 East Grant Highway, Marengo, IL 60152. The memorial service will follow.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
