Beatrice "Bea" L. (Kalil) Ameen, age 96, of North Andover, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026, in her home in the company of her loving family and caregivers. Born in Lawrence in 1929, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Cecilia (Assaf) Kalil.
Bea was the cherished wife of the late Samuel Ameen, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Together, they built a home filled with the kind of open-door welcome that made everyone feel like family.
She leaves her six children: Karen Lang and her late former husband Thomas, Susan Chory and her husband George, Nancy Rheault, Samuel Ameen Jr. and his wife Lori, David Ameen and his wife Jennifer, and Beatrice Tiberii and her partner Bruce Flynn.
She was the precious "Sitho" to Joshua, Zachary, Tristen, Nicholas, Michaela, Ethan, Samuel III, Charles, Harrison, Hannah, Collin, and Griffin, who were the lights of her life. She delighted in every milestone, every visit, every hug. Her great-granddaughter, Samirah, brought her immeasurable joy, and Bea cherished the chance to hold yet another generation in her arms.
Bea was also the sister of Virginia Mackool and her late husband George, and Shirley LaPointe and her late husband Roger, and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Eileen and Jeannette and brothers Wallace and Walter, as well as her cherished grandson Andrew.
A devoted homemaker, Bea enjoyed crocheting and making ethnic foods to share. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach, finding peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. In their later years, she and Sam traveled to Italy, Lebanon, Mexico, Arizona, and Hawaii as well as made day trips to many favorite locales.
Bea was a life-long communicant of St. Anthony's Maronite Church, and a devoted member of their Sodality.
Her greatest joy and source of pride was her family, and she cherished everyday visits as well as family gatherings for special occasions and holiday celebrations. She especially loved the babies, who always brought her joy.
Bea's legacy is one of love, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her.
Our family would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to Grace, Maritza, Caroline, Kathy, Mary and Heather for their compassionate and loving care of our Mom.
