Charles Marion "Charlie" Newman Sr., a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on Thursday, August 9th, 1951, in Bulloch County Georgia, Charlie spent his life embodying the values of hard work, simplicity, and a deep love for the outdoors.

Charlie was a long-time resident of Ellabell, GA, where he made a significant impact both personally and professionally. As a dedicated welder employed at Industrial Machine, he was known for his skill, reliability, and craftsmanship. Over the years, Charlie also worked on various farms throughout the area, endearing himself to the community with his work ethic and willingness to lend a hand.

A true outdoorsman, Charlie found solace in nature, where he was most at home. His passions for fishing and deer hunting were legendary among those who knew him. Charlie was an adventurer at heart, always eagerly anticipating the next hunting season. In recent years, he took great joy in watching the nature scenes captured by the trail cameras he meticulously placed around his self-built hunting house.

Charlie's laid-back demeanor and kind nature were cherished by his family and friends. He was a loving father to his son, Charles Marion Newman Jr., known fondly as Marion, and a supportive brother to Joseph G. Newman Jr. and Teresa Austin. He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law Shannon, brother-in-law Darrell, sister-in-law Brenda, and numerous nieces and nephews who will dearly miss his warmth and stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph G. Newman Sr. and Betty J. Glisson Newman, along with his brother, Randall I. Newman Sr.

A graveside service will be held to honor and celebrate Charlie's life on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellabell, GA. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend this final farewell to a remarkable man who touched so many lives.
