James Jarvis Obituary

James Dwight Jarvis, age 76, of Carlisle, Arkansas, passed away on February 7, 2026.

James was born on March 10, 1949, to Thomas and Nellie Mae Gilbert Jarvis. He was a lifelong farmer who took great pride in the land and the work of his hands. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could most often be found fishing or hunting, enjoying the quiet and peace that nature brought him. Those who knew Dwight will remember his hard working spirit, his appreciation for simple things, and his connection to the outdoors. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Jarvis; and his siblings, J.H.
Jarvis, Mildred Plant, Ruby Bolwan, Junior Jarvis, S.T. Jarvis, and Rose Smith.

Dwight is survived by his grandson, Jeffery Cates (Stacey) and his beloved great­ grandchildren, Rhyleigh, Baylor, and Walker, who were a great joy in his life.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock for the great care Dwight received.

Dwight will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. A visitation will be Wednesday, February 11, 2026 beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen, Arkansas. A graveside service will be Thursday, February 12, 2026 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Hamilton Cemetery located South of Carlisle, Arkansas.
