Shirley M. Greenwood, 68, of South Roxana, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her residence.
She was born in Gillespie, IL, on October 11, 1956, the daughter of Henry A. and Velda C. (Cawvey) Crouser.
Shirley was a waitress at Ariston Restaurant in Litchfield for 26 years. Before slowing down and enjoying retirement, she spent time working at Alhambra Rehab and Healthcare and Villas and Hollybrook Senior Living. This further demonstrated the selflessness that she showed throughout her life. Most of all, she enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with family.
Survivors include her children, Sharon (Kevin) Pokorney of Chesterton, IN, and Steve (Mercedes) Greenwood of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Eli, Elizabeth, Logan, Addison, Zoey, and Mabry; sisters, Marcella Lesko of Florida, and Henrietta (Clifton) Miller of Mt. Olive; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Seipp of Benld, and Janis Crouser of Sawyerville.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, William "Bill" Seipp, and Henry Crouser; and a brother-in-law, John Lesko.
Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded, and no services will be held at this time.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final arrangements.
