Cynthia Buck Obituary

Cynthia Anne Sidey Buck passed away on December 26, 2025 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Born September 3, 1956, Cindy was the eldest daughter of Hugh and Anne Sidey. She spent most of her early years with her three treasured siblings in Potomac, MD. In 1986, Cindy married John Buck. Together, they raised three children: Bayly, John, and Thomas. These three filled her life with endless joy.

Once her children were grown, Cindy took a job at the White House Historical Association, where she was able to indulge her love of history and pride in her father's legacy as a chronicler of the White House and the American presidency.

A memorial service is planned for April 18, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Alban's Episcopal Church (3001 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington D.C. 20016). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the White House Historical Association or the National Cathedral Flower Guild.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
