Andrew Tanabe Obituary

ANDREW TANABE Andrew Tsuneo Tanabe (b. March 18, 1945), originally from Wahiawa, HI, formerly of Pearl City, HI, Rochester, MN, Tokyo, Omaha and Boston, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 10, 2024. He is survived by his son and daughter, James (Lena) and Susan (Tracee); his brothers, Timothy (Sherolyn) and Alvin (Deborah); his grandchildren, Koaokalani and Kiyomi; and his dear friend, Betty. Andrew was a dedicated and dutiful son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. An avid athlete, he competed and medaled at the National Senior Games in badminton and track and field. Andy's community of athletes, coworkers, and countless friends around the world will miss his generous spirit, colorful stories, mentorship, generosity, and boundless words of encouragement. A private celebration of his life was held at the Wahiawa Hongwanji Mission.
