VAN KATSUYOSHI TANABE Van K. Tanabe, 67, of Aiea, died on November 17, 2024, at his home. Born in Kailua-Kona. He was a retired cable splicer at Hawaiian Telephone Co. Private services will be held. He is survived by his sons, Brandon (Lissa Onishi) Tanabe of Hilo, Michael Tanabe of Pearl City; daughters, Jasmyne Tanabe of Pearl City, Brigette (Daniel) Tanabe of Aiea, Danielle Tanabe of Ontario, CA, Melanie Tanabe of Pearl City; sisters, Thelma Tanabe of Aiea, Iris (Bobo) Hirose of Pearl City; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

I met Van at Hawaiian Tel. We work together as a Cable Splicer. He was a good at his job and he taught me a lot.
