ARTEMIO UY VISAYA, JR. November 28, 1970 - July 3, 2023 Artemio "Art" Uy Visaya, Jr. was born on November 28, 1970, and departed this world on July 3, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound impact on all who knew him. He attended the University of Hawaii and was also a proud graduate of Damien Memorial High School, Class of 1988. Art lived a life filled with a passion for Jesus, drawing, magic, puppeteering, and almost anything sci-fi. Especially "Star Trek" and "Star Wars". His love for people was tremendous and he always had a desire to entertain anyone he ran across with a magic trick, a joke, an impersonation, or just kind words. He truly was an ambassador of Aloha. Throughout his lifetime, Art displayed a diverse range of talents. As an independent Amway business owner, he showcased his entrepreneurial skills. During the festive season, he brought joy to families by portraying Santa Claus, aka "The Hawaiian Santa." Renowned as the human camera, he was a frequent presence at birthday parties and conventions across Hawaii, captivating audiences with his unique ability. He would even surprise the guests with a few magic tricks along the way. Additionally, Art excelled as a master puppeteer, skillfully animating beloved characters like "Kermit the Frog", "Elmo", and the "Cookie Monster." His exceptional hosting skills made him a sought-after emcee for numerous events throughout the island, and he even made appearances on the popular show "Magnum P.I." in 2022. Art's tenure as a concierge at the Aloha Tower Market Place solidified his reputation as the "Ambassador of Aloha", earning him widespread recognition from the people of Hawaii. Art's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, however, his legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire and guide generations to come. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. On July 19, 2023, a Memorial service will take place at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary to commemorate and cherish the extraordinary life of Art. Family and friends will come together to honor his memory. The visitation period will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. A reception will be held thereafter, providing an opportunity for attendees to gather and share their memories.
