CATHERINE CHOY It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Catherine "Kitty" Choy. Kitty passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family. Kitty, as she was known to her friends and family, was a beloved former school teacher and an extraordinary source of energy and love for her family and friends. A graduate of Roosevelt High School, she attended the University of Hawaii and earned her degree from the University of Delaware's Teaching College. Kitty loved gardening, was an incredible cook and cherished spending time with her seven grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Granny." Her unwavering presence and support will be deeply missed. Kitty's selflessness and willingness to help were unmatched; she was always there for her loved ones. Kitty joins her beloved husband, Charles "Charlie" Choy, who passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on January 31, 2021. A former Bank Examiner with the State of Hawaii, Charlie was a graduate of St. Louis School and was honored as one of the first graduates of what is now known as the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Together, Kitty and Charlie embraced life's adventures, traveling to over 35 countries and always seeking out the best cultural experiences, bakeries, restaurants, crafts, and shopping. They are survived by their daughter Mallory Fujitani, her husband Riki, and their children McKenna, Cade, and Emma; their daughter Meredith Low, her husband Todd, and their children Rhys and Evan; and their son Malcolm, his wife Keri, and their children Bryson and Breena. Services for Kitty, will be held at Diamond Head Mortuary on Thursday, March 20. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, followed by the service at 10:30 am. A reception and burial will follow.
