David Komori Obituary

David Michio Komori 92, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024. David was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to the parents of Yoshitaro and Esther and raised in Kapaa, Kauai, where he graduated from Kapaa High and went on to graduate from the University of Hawaii in 1953. Dad spent his dedicated 20-year career in the Air Force traveling the world stationed in Germany, North Dakota, California, Hawaii, Japan and Colorado. After honorably retiring from the Air Force, he obtained his master's degree in business and worked in the Lieutenant Governor's office running the elections office. He then moved to the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations working in the director's office until he retired in 1993. He devoted his retired life in helping the community through his involvement in the Ala Moana Lion's club. He enjoyed golfing and mostly, at family gatherings, always quizzing his grandchildren on current events and what he shot at the golf course that day. He is survived by sons, Stephen (Marlene), Howard (Yuriko) and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Kelci, Rick and Sheri; and great-granddaughter, Taylor. Interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), Committal Court (near Court 13) on March 20, 2024, at 11:30AM. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
