Dawna Ota Obituary

DAWNA M. OTA Dawna M. Ota, 67, of Aiea, Hawaii, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on July 14, 2024. She was born on May 21, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii to proud parents Gilbert and Elsie Mau. Dawna was proud graduate of Maryknoll High School, and later became the first woman in her family to attend college at the University of Hawaii. She went on to have a distinguished career in Human Resources, working for Liberty House, Case & Lynch Attorneys at Law, Brewer Environmental Industries, Hawaiian Electric Company, and Matson Navigation Company. Beyond her professional achievements, Dawna loved to travel and every opportunity that arise put her on a journey to her next destination. Her journeys took her across Countries from Europe to Asia as well as to many go to destinations in between. Some of her travel destinations included luxury cruises to the Bahamas, Quebec Canada, Nova Scotia, Boston, New York, Alaska, Victoria B.C., Spain and Italy. Dawna was also connoisseur of fine wine and one of her favorite destinations was wine country in Napa California where wine tasting was an event that she would always look forward to. She was also a cherished season ticket holder for the San Francisco 49ers so football and Napa were combined into a week-long venture. She is survived by husband, Eric Enjada; sons, Darren Ota (Amber), Travis Ota; daughter, Crystal Lee (Eric) grandson, Everett; mother, Elsie Mau; brothers, Gordon Mau, Kevin Mau; sister, Brenna Walters (Jay). Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel. Visitation begins at 9:00 am and service 10:00 am.
