Dianne Robinson Obituary

DIANNE J. K. MAKANEOLE ROBINSON Dianne Juana Kawailiula Makaneole Robinson, of Kapolei, Oahu, peacefully passed away on June 23, 2025. She was born on September, 3, 1944 in Puowaina, Oahu to parents William Makaneole and Sarah Esther Pahuanui Kauhane Makaneole, and raised at the family home on 102 Prospect Street. Makaneole-Robinson attended Pauoa Elementary, Kawananakoa Intermediate, and graduated from McKinley High School, class of 1962. After marrying her sweetheart, John Russell Robinson Sr., a U.S. Navy Corpsman from Hancock, Maryland, the two raised their family in the continental United States before returning home to Hawaii in 1984. Makaneole-Robinson was a loving mother and home-maker, returning to the work-force later in life. She enjoyed working at the Honolulu International Airport for a number of years, employed by the International Travel Service (ITS) and later retiring from Freeman Guards Inc. Makaneole-Robinson was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served ardently in her various callings, most memorably as the ward chorister, directing the music each Sunday and often interpreting the hymns in American Sign Language. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Vivian Flores, Mrs. Sarah Requilman, Mrs. Paulette Mao, and three brothers, James Laa, Kawelo Makaneole, and Somerset Makaneole. She is survived by brother, William Makaneole Jr., two sisters, Youline Kalima and Willette Amantiad, sons, John, Sterling, Stuart, and Andrew Robinson, daughter, Roxanne Meleisea, along with 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on July 15, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Auwaiolimu Chapel. Visitation will begin at 5:00PM followed by a service at 6:00PM. The burial will follow the next day, at 12:30 PM, on July 16, 2025, at Diamond Head Memorial Park, section G. Arrangements Provided By: Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary
