EDWIN WATANABE Obituary

EDWIN TSUGIO WATANABE Edwin T. Watanabe, age 76, passed away at his Mililani home on July 26, 2024, just months after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of bladder cancer. Born and raised on Maui, Ed graduated from Maui High School and the University of Hawaii and spent most of his career in the construction bonding business. Ed loved running and completed numerous Honolulu Marathons. He enjoyed teaming up with friends at charity golf tournaments and traveling with them to check out golf courses. His greatest joy, however, was raising his three children and spending time with his five grandchildren. Ed is survived by his wife of 49 years Corinne; children Traciann Li (Bryan), Brad (Joanne), and Lance (Hillary); grandchildren Avery, Bennett, Harper, Elyse, and Eli; 107-year-old mother Yoneko; sister Sheila Morimoto (Jerry); and brother Mark (Angie Turner). He was predeceased by his father Toshio and brother Rodney. A private gathering to remember Ed's life will be held later. If desired, donations in Ed's memory may be made to the University of Hawaii Foundation, in trust for the University of Hawaii Cancer Center.
