Efren Kanuha Obituary

Surrounded by family, Efren Reyes Kanuha, 68, formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii, was called to heaven peacefully on September 13, 2023 in Sacramento, California after a long-fought battle with cancer.
Efren was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 16, 1954. He attended Farrington High School and joined the United States Army Reserve in 1973. Efren started his first job at Moore International and Young's Market as a delivery driver in 1975, kickstarting several years in the food distribution industry. He later pursued a career at United Airlines in 1989 and worked in different multifaceted areas of the airline industry which ranged from kitchen to ramp services based in Honolulu and San Francisco. In 2001, Efren worked at the Hawaii State Judiciary District Courthouse as a groundskeeper.
Preceded in death by Mother Hannah Manibog, Brother Hiram "Malaki" Kanuha, Sister Delanie Kanuha, Father and Mother-in-law Lorenzo and Hilaria Benito.
Survived by Wife Frances Kanuha, Daughter Shannah Kanuha, Son Loren (Esther) Kanuha, Granddaughter Athena Kanuha, Grandson Ka'ano'i Kanuha, Brothers Marcelo Kanuha and Adrian (Robbie) Kanuha, Sister Bernardine (Ricky Colobong) Manibog, Sister-in-law Theone Kanuha, many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at St. Joseph Church, 94-675 Farrington Highway, Waipahu, HI 96797.
Visitation 9:00 a.m., Mass 10:30 a.m. Private burial at a later date.
