Ethel Chong Obituary

ETHEL CHAR CHONG 90, died at Pali Momi on June 15, 2024. Born in Honolulu on October 1, 1933, she was the youngest daughter of Lim Tai Kam and Kim Woo Char. She graduated from Farrington High School then received her bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii. She completed a post-graduate program at Radcliffe in Boston. She worked for the State of Hawaii as a researcher for several years. Married to Wilfred Chong for 63 years, she was mother to four sons and grand- mother of one granddaughter and three grandsons. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as a talented cook with a love of traveling. Pre-deceased by husband Wilfred and son Clifford. Survived by sons Philip (Tess), David (Margarita) and Walter (Sharon); grand- daughter Quinn; and grandsons Colin, Kalev and Avram. A service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Community Church of Honolulu. Visitation at 10:00, Service at 11:00. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
