Frances Oda Obituary

FRANCES KAZUE ODA Frances Kazue Oda passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at the age of 90. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Hiram H. Oda, who preceded her in passing just 3 months prior. Frances lived a full and joyful life, sharing 70 years of marriage with Hiram. They were High School sweethearts who knew each other since Middle School. Some of their favorite pastimes together were playing golf, traveling to Las Vegas, dining at restaurants they loved, singing, and the most treasured: spending time with family. Frances' grandchildren were the apple of her eye. All the grandchildren would say they are her favorite because she made each of them feel they were her favorite. She also found great happiness and love with all her fur babies, treating them as though they were her children too. She was witty, loving, and generous, but nothing would get passed her. She loved making her spam musubis, chocolate cake, spinach rolls, and rum cake. She even went through the trouble of dividing the rum cake with toothpicks so the grandchildren would know which areas had very little rum so they could enjoy the cake too. Frances is survived by her daughter, Lynn Oda (Brian) Au Yuen; grandchildren, Nikelynn Oshiro, Peyton Oshiro, and Brilynn Au Yuen; great-grandson, Kaden Oshiro; dogs, Ban Chan and Miso; loving brother, Walter Nakashima; and beloved nieces and nephews. A private luncheon was held. Frances' legacy of love, compassion, and family devotion will live in our hearts forever. She will always be remembered as our G-ma so loved and precious. May you rest in God's amazing love with Daddy. We love and miss you. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7.
