Irene Maeda Obituary

IRENE ETSUKO ISHII MAEDA Irene Etsuko Maeda passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born in Honolulu on October 6, 1941, to Kiyotomo and Misao Ishii. Irene married Herbert Maeda on October 16, 1965, and raised two children in Pearl City. Irene worked at Ft. Shafter for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. After her retirement, Irene enjoyed taking many trips to Japan, Europe and the mainland with her life-long friends. In her later years, Irene moved to Ilima at Leihano, an assisted-living senior facility, where she enjoyed doing crafts, painting and the companionship of all the residents. Irene was preceded in passing by husband, Herbert Maeda. She is survived by children, Diane Maeda and Sherri (Maeda) Timar; and grandchildren Aiden and Pretzel (our dog). Private Services to be Held.
