Joan Young Obituary

JOAN AUDREY YOUNG Joan Audrey Young passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025 in Honolulu. Born on July 17, 1939 in Teaneck, New Jersey, she later moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. While in Nursing School, she met Walter Young, whom she married in 1963. They moved to Honolulu, where she worked as a medical assistant. Joan earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii and transitioned into teaching Medical Assisting at the Kapiolani Community College. She enjoyed having a good time with friends, reading, traveling, going to movies, playing Mahjong and spending time with her two dogs, Honey and Jasper. Joan is survived by her children Walter, Adriene, Curt, her sister and three granddaughters; and she was predeceased by her husband, Walter. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Joan Young's life will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Community Church of Honolulu (2345 Nu'uanu Avenue) at 10:00 am. Aloha attire.

Joan was a friend and client of my Dad, Mel Lee -her Realtor buddy. She was always so funny and full of great stories. We always ate at Chinese restaurants, even after my father passed away. She will always be remembered with great respect.
