Kay Yogi Obituary

KAY KATSUKO YOGI Loving mother Kay Yogi, 98, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, at her home in Kaneohe. She was born in Honolulu on January 22, 1925, and was the ninth child of eleven to Yukichi and Matsu Yonamine. Kay graduated from the University of Hawaii in June 1947, and taught at the Kealahou kindergarten in Kalihi. She married David Riyukichi Yogi (dec.) later that year on December 20th. Before retiring, she worked as the Deed Clerk at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Kay was baptized at, and was a member of Parker United Methodist Church. She sat on the Finance Committee for several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed ikebana, gardening, and crocheting. She would never miss her favorite TV game show "Wheel of Fortune" even during her dialysis treatments. You could hear her cheering for her team during football season. She is survived by son David (Yumi) Yogi, Jr.; daughters: Karen Osaki, Linda Yogi and Claire (Grant) Floan; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel. Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Celebration service to follow at 10:00 a.m.
